Bio:

LUCYLLE ARMENTANO is broadly focused on emotional expressivity in close relationships. I am primarily interested in unpacking the differences between verbal and nonverbal expressivity on a trait level. Most research on trait emotional expressivity conceptualizes it as a global characteristic that varies little across situations, without distinguishing verbal and nonverbal expressions of emotion. I am interested in exploring whether or not it is warranted to look at each channel individually. More specifically,I am interested in looking at just nonverbal expressivity as a potential predictor of other personality attributes. Are people congruent on emotional expressivity across the channels? That is,if I am very expressive verbally am I also very expressive nonverbally? I am interested in how these characteristics of verbal and nonverbal expressivity impact close relationships.
